Who We Are
Here at Lean In Jersey, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2017, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to bring our team’s fresh ideas and passion to the range of activities we’re involved in. Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our belief that a more diverse workforce is better for all.
Lean In Jersey was established following the success of Sheryl Sandbergs's 2013 book, Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead, and the subsequent formation of the Lean In Foundation.
Our founder in Jersey, Pippa Davidson, set up the Jersey circle in order to bring together a small group of like minded women to support each other in the workplace, with our daily balancing act and soft skill development. Lean In Jersey now has over 400 diverse members in Jersey, across many industry sectors.

Our network is fully inclusive with a number of sub-circles now operating to provide smaller supportive groups for women in law, HR, compliance, banking, creative, retail, security, students and a circle established by men, for men, seeking to promote better diversity within their own businesses. We are now working together to develop cross business mentoring, to share best practices and to ensure women in their own workplaces are encouraged to attend events and have opportunities to find support where required.

Circles, and Lean In networks, are created to offer a forum for women to come together, to support each other, learn together and build their skills and confidence. However, in Jersey, we now have a number of male members who actively support and drive agenda's in their own businesses for better D&I balance, together we truly achieve more.

Our circles build relationships and support our members in being unashamedly ambitious. Lean In Jersey seeks to engage women and men across industry sectors and to develop schemes with schools, government and organisations to help promote diversity in our community, tackle unconscious bias and offer support networks to young students entering our workplace.

Lean In Jersey continues to be one of the fastest growing circles in the world. We plan to work closely with the Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors for 2020, co-hosting CPD sessions and events to bring our members together. We believe that by working with IoD Jersey, and other key stakeholders we can all achieve more and shift the dial at a greater pace for the Island.
What We Do
Furthering our cause is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to support, empower, and provide high quality resources to our community in a safe and secure environment. Our success isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but by the value we provide to our members and local community.

Making Connections
At Lean In Jersey, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Support is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
Helping The Community
Monthly CPD sessions with a 'Lunch and Learn' format to build soft skills critical for development, senior management and good leadership.
One Step at a Time
A mentoring matching scheme whereby members are supported in selecting a mentor via our platform and provided with guidance and resources to start this relationship and move forward in their careers.
"Coming to Lean In Jersey events over the last year has changed my life. I have more confidence, have made new connections and took the steps I needed to move ahead at work thanks to the support the circle offers."
